"Old Man and The Sea" Marlin Pendant

The "Old Man and The Sea" Marlin Pendant is designed to pay homage to the classic Hemingway novella (short story), his last published work. The tales fabled Old Man "Santiago" spent his life in Cuba fishing for a living, down on his luck Santiago set out on a fishing trip during an 84 day bad luck streak having not caught a single fish... on the 85th day he finally hooked up and for a grueling three days and nights battle where the old man was beaten down mentally and physically by the sea, the sharks, and his prized catch of a lifetime. 

 "Makaira nigricans" is a member of the Istiophoridae family endemic to the Atlantic Ocean which is closely related to with the Indo-Pacific Blue Marlin, then simply called "Blue Marlin". Some authorities still consider both species distinct. The "Old Man and The Sea" Marlin Pendant is a part of the highly sought after Offshore Collection and is offered in 3 sizes with assorted shackle bale sizes to accommodate a variety of necklaces.
